Cute Squirrel

Weekly Photo Challenge

We saw a squirrel sprinting away, as we were walking and after searching among the trees, we caught him sitting on a branch, nibbling on a nut.  He is not actually on the edge of the branch, but seeing him perching on the bough and nibbling away, oblivious to its surroundings, really made our day.

Watch the video of it nibbling the nut – Cuteness overload (sorry it’s not the right side up but couldn’t find a program that can upload here).

An elegance of Pandas

A school of dolphins, a pack of wolves, a swarm of bees, a herd of cows, a pride of lions – these are some examples of collective nouns.  A collective noun is a word for a group of specific items, animals or people.  Now, I’m sure you have heard or used any of these nouns.

Take a look at this video, tagged in FB page by my friend.  To be honest, in my 19 years of teaching, I’ve never heard of any of these collective nouns, so, it’s an eyeopener for me.  I want to share this knowledge with you.

I believe all the collective nouns fit the animals, EXCEPT one – the collective noun used for Pandas. It’s a shame I think.  I’d rather change the noun to ‘Elegance‘.  What do you think?  Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
